Shree’s life journey to this title was filled with major challenges. She is a survivor of facial burns from a car accident and has had a permanent heart pacemaker implant since the age of 12.
Shree has been invited to speak in over 34 US states and 11 countries. Her message is about choosing persistence in hardships and being kind.
In her university years, Shree Saini was involved in a harrowing rollover car accident that resulted in bleeding, burn-like wounds all over her face.
The impact was so severe that she later said, “I no longer had my face,” because the injuries disfigured her to the point where she no longer recognized herself.
Incredibly, she said she couldn’t even cry — any tears she shed would burn as they passed over her raw, healing skin.
According to her own account, her face “bled for months,” and doctors kept it covered for nearly a year to facilitate healing. Despite the trauma, within just a few weeks, she made the courageous decision to return to her studies, refusing to hide from the world.
